FAQ

Common questions

How often should I visit a dentist?

For most adults and children, we recommend a routine check-up and hygiene cleaning every 6 months. This allows us to monitor your oral health, catch any minor issues before they require complex treatment, and keep your teeth free of stubborn tartar buildup. If you have a history of gum issues, we might suggest a customised schedule.

Will my routine treatment or filling be painful?

No, keeping you completely comfortable is our top priority. Our routine examinations are entirely non-invasive, and our hygiene cleanings are carried out with a very gentle touch. If you need a restoration like a white filling, we utilise advanced local numbing techniques so you won't feel a thing. We move entirely at your pace and will always stop if you need a moment.

What does the PRSI dental scheme actually cover?

Under the Treatment Benefit Scheme, eligible PRSI contributors are entitled to one comprehensive oral examination fully covered (free) every calendar year. It also provides a significant subsidy toward your annual scale and polish, reducing the cost of your cleaning to just a small co-payment. Our team will gladly verify your exact entitlements directly before you arrive.

Do you use silver or tooth-coloured fillings?

We are a modern, mercury-free practice, meaning we exclusively use premium tooth-coloured composite resin fillings. These restorations are meticulously matched to the exact shade of your natural enamel, making them completely discreet while providing excellent long-term durability and strength.

What should I do if I have a sudden toothache or dental emergency?

Please give our studio a call on (089) 617 8795 as early in the day as possible. We keep dedicated emergency slots open daily to ensure we can see patients in discomfort on the same day as much as possible. Our primary goal during an emergency visit is to diagnose the root cause, relieve your pain immediately, and stabilise the tooth.
